Does 32 Soft’s Production Planner provide production sequence and labor force requirements?
32 Soft’s Production Planner is currently using order sequence for capacity and components availability calculations. This is an external sequence and is not recorded into QAD because there is a lack of standard QAD reports that would show this sequence. We can customize the Production Planner and record production sequence into QAD, but you will need an additional report — either as part of the Data Loader or as a regular QAD report — to see those sequences in QAD.
The capacity report in our 32 Soft Production Planner currently shows the required and available capacity in terms of hours. If you maintain labor force details in QAD – number of people (Run Crew) for each work center/machine – we can add another column to the report and show labor force required for each order. Data accuracy in QAD, of course, is critical for this new column to be useful.
Can you modify work order component requirements in 16.13.1 with this tool?
Work Order component requirements cannot be modified with this tool. However, we do have a separate tool called Work Order BOM 16.13.1 that allows you to modify components for discrete work orders.
We produce based on lots from our customer. Can we schedule using these lots?
Yes, depending on how your customer lots are referenced in the work orders, you can either use the lot number as your work order number or we can add a lot number column to the Orders List tab and you can assign the lot number to the work order when you are creating new or modifying exiting orders.
Can you split work orders in this tool like you can when using the QAD 16.9 menu?
Yes you can. Since our Data Loaders are Excel-based, you can simply copy and insert a new line and adjust the quantities in each of the lines to quickly and easily create two work orders instead of one. You can also merge two lines into one, creating one work order, if needed. In addition, you can update WO dates, quantities, and WO statuses massively.
