Do you still have to deal with removing the WIP before applying updates to Routings, especially if removing a step and production is still occurring?
Product Structure and Routing Maintenance Data Loaders perform changes to QAD data via QAD menus. This allows us to utilize standard QAD validation logic in addition to the data validation built into the Loaders. If QAD put restrictions in place for changes to BOMs and routings, the same restrictions will be used for the Loader. However, if QAD does not have required restrictions in place, they could be added directly to the Loader.
How would we use this tool if we are planning to use the PCC module?
When you switch to PCC module, all changes to BOMs and (optionally) routings are done through Product Change Control orders. Access to BOM (optional routing) maintenance functions are restricted in QAD. Our Product Change Control Data Loader allows you to quickly, safely and efficiently create PCC orders for BOM changes. Are you able to create new items on the fly or does the Data Loader only work for existing item numbers?
Product Structure and Routing Maintenance Data Loaders allow you to create new or modify existing BOMs and routings. They do not automatically create new items.
Do these Loaders work on all versions of QAD, including SE and EE?
Yes. Product Structure and Routing Maintenance Data Loaders work on all QAD versions starting from v9.0 and up.
Is the same Loader used for both SE & EE?
The Excel templates (front-end) for Product Structure and Routing Maintenance Data Loaders are the same for the SE and EE QAD version. The code installed on the QAD server (back-end) is different. If you currently use these loaders with SE version and plan to migrate to EE version, the Loaders will need to be upgraded to be compatible with QAD EE.
Can you add fields from other tables?
Yes, we can customize generic versions of the Product Structure and Routing Maintenance Data Loaders to add custom fields or fields from other QAD tables or functions.
Do you have a Loader for Work Center calendars?
We do not currently have a Data Loader for Work Center Calendar Maintenance, but we can develop one upon customer request.
We have custom fields and validation logic in our item master maintenance. Can we still use your Data Loaders to massively update or create new records?
We can customize the Loaders to work with customized maintenance functions and validation logic, provided we have the details of customizations or customized code.
Can Data Loaders be used in QAD cloud environment?
Yes. If you have access to the server side of your cloud environment, we can help you install and setup these Data Loaders on the cloud.
