Work Orders are one of the essential functions of QAD. In 2016, QAD revised and enhanced the functionality of Work Orders, Advanced Repetitive, Kanban, and some scheduling functions, such as Flow, and combined them into what is now known as Production Orders.
Effective with QAD O3, Production Orders will be the way of manufacturing for QAD. We estimate that about 60% of QAD users still use the Work Order functionality and will eventually have to adapt to using Production Orders.
In a three-part series on Production Orders, Don Lindsey will cover the significant changes to QAD planning, scheduling, and execution that resulted in Production Orders. He’ll also discuss how production orders deal with materials and examine the function of accounting for manufacturing in future versions of QAD. You won’t want to miss these information-filled webinars. You do not have to attend all of them. Each is valuable on its own. But for the full picture, all three should be attended in sequence.
