Make-To-Order: The Future of Supply Chain
Digital transformation requires us to reexamine old models and to become more nimble in our response to our customers. Customization will play a larger and larger part in our supply chains as customers will demand products designed or specified to their own desired, distinct definitions.
From Configured Products to customized lot/serial numbering processes to a rules-based configurator, QAD offers tools to help your customer be happy by providing them with precisely what they want. Don will speak to the requirements and concepts needed to set up Make-to-Order, Assemble-to-Order, or validatable versions of specific products made to customer specifications.
Using QAD Tools to Manage Recalls
Recalls are one of the most feared occurrences in modern-day manufacturing. Should it happen to your company, your ability to adequately respond to a recall is critical to the continued existence of your business. You need to know what shipped to whom, who has that product now, when and where it was manufactured, the raw materials and components used in the manufacture of the recalled item, and more.
Thankfully, QAD has all the tools you need to handle a potential recall and in this webinar, we’ll cover some of them. Your understanding of where and how your data is accumulated in QAD will be critical to the successful mitigation of any recall activities.
Fixed Assets: Tracking What You Own & Where It Is
The Fixed Asset module in QAD allows you to document, track, value, and report the status of various assets in your organization. Land, buildings, office equipment (sometimes referred to as PPE – Property, Plant, and Equipment), machinery, tools, and IT appliances are all types of assets purchased for long-term use. This module helps you record your assets accurately to your organization’s balance sheet as contributions to your company’s net worth. Don will cover Fixed Asset functions such as Books, Calendars, Depreciation Methods, Locations, Classes, Reporting, and Retirement.
Validation Requirements in QAD Upgrades
With many companies considering or executing upgrading their current version of QAD to the 2020 version of AUX or .NET, validation always comes up as a part of the project, particularly in the Food, Medical, and Pharma industries.
Validation establishes documented evidence that demonstrates a procedure, process, or activity carried out in testing and then in the production environment meets your company’s defined processes as well as official regulatory standards. Validation is required if your company manages, controls, and tracks the manufacturing and distribution of medical devices and pharmaceutical products.
Validation is also essential to ensure that the processes in use in your organization will consistently produce the expected results. Hence, the qualification of systems and equipment used in your process becomes part of the validation documentation.
Don will take you through the validation process, outlining the critical steps in the documentation.
How To Use QAD Schemas to Interpret Data
A schema is a cognitive framework or concept that helps organize and interpret information. Schemas are used everywhere in QAD. Don will help you understand how useful schemas can be and how to use them as guidelines when analyzing the vast amount of information in QAD. Don will cover Item, Customer, and Supplier schemas and the application of Number Range Management in the QAD environment.
