At the Midwest User Group Fall 2023 conference, QAD announced the release of QAD ERP O3. They will introduce O3 to select customers beginning in June 2024, with a general release in early 2025.
QAD promises that, with ERP O³, “upgrades will become far easier, allowing you to stay current with the latest QAD innovations. The system adapts readily to your changing business needs through easy-to-configure extensions. Embedded AI capabilities deliver actionable insights to enhance decision-making. QAD ERP O³ will provide the agility and intelligence needed in today’s constantly evolving environment.”
Here are some of the differences that QAD is promising with O3
- This cloud solution will run on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- The software and database applications will move from Progress to Java and Amazon’s relational database software.
- O3 will introduce no-code or low-code extensions in Typescript (a variant of JavaScript) so that you can adapt the system to your specific needs.
- QAD expects no .NET UI in the O3 product by the end of 2024.
If you want to hear more about the technical specifics of this new release, Tony Winter, QAD’s chief technical officer, is offering a webinar on December 15 to discuss the changes specifically. You can register for the webinar here.
