We are often asked whether we have a Data Loader to update the Standard Cost Set, like 1.4.9 or 1.4.15. We have SIM Costset Data Loader 30.13.5 which is capable of updating the Standard Costset through a simulated costset. Finance users are familiar with this practice. The reason we do not allow the upload into the standard costset is that the system will automatically re-evaluate inventory. This can create a problem if done carelessly as Accounting would have to deal with those inventory variances. The standard costset update is usually done at the month end or when minimum to no inventory activity is happening in QAD. Using 30.15.5 Loader and adding one more step 30.3 is additional control point that avoids the creation of a massive problem in QAD.
