In this 20 minute webinar, you’ll learn how you can save time and money as well as improve the efficiency of your product change process in QAD.
• More quickly complete your product change order entry
• More easily view and revise change orders
• Coordinate changes to multiple product structures with common component
Are PCO changes for components able to be driven by effective or end dates in the PCC Loader?
If you use product change orders, effective dates are not stored with the order. Once the PCO is approved, there is a separate function in QAD where you can specify the release or change over date. Once that date is specified, QAD folds your changes into your product structure.
What are the fields available after column R in the Excel screen in the Product Structure Loader?
All the fields that appear in the corresponding QAD program are updatable via this Data Loader.
Do you have to be on a certain version of QAD to use this?
The PCC Loader works with version EB2 and up.
Does this tie to MRP in any way or is there notification to supply chain about changes made?
If you use changes through the BOM Data Loader, specify effective date and you are on MRP, then, yes MRP will start notifying on effective date— or earlier depending on product lead time.
If you use PCO, then the data from the change order is not visible to MRP until the PCO is approved and implementation is assigned.
Could you elaborate on the difference between implementation and incorporation?
PCO Implementation is analyzing the effect of the product change order on the inventory, cost, production capacity, etc., and setting up effective date for the change.
PCO Incorporation is an actual update of the corresponding QAD data with changes specified in the product change order.
If an item is no longer in the BOM, but is on hand, is there notification to let supply chain know what to do with remaining qty on hand with the part that is no longer used?
This Data Loader does not have that functionality, but this could be done by combining two reports – BOM Structures and Inventory Validation. If your IT Department does not have the resources to combine these two reports, we would be happy to help.
